ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS

LUCKY LEHLOHONOLO KELE: He is a dancer and choreographer in contemporary dance,
Hailed from Katlehong - EKURHULENI east of Johannesburg, South Africa. Matriculated at
Alafang High School

INVOLMENTS
°1998 Attended part time dance classes (Afro – fusion and Contemporary dance
°1999 Attended part time dance classes (classic, contemporary dance)
°2000 – 5 Attended dance workshops hosted by different dance companies around
Gauteng; Inzalo Dance Theatre Company, Vuyani Dance Theatre, Gauteng
Dance Manyano in collaboration with Gauteng Department of Sports,
Reconciliation, Arts and Culture to mention few.
2007- Attended a year long dance academy (scholarship) at Centre Méditerranéen de
la Danse Contemporaine du Tunis (CMDC), attributed by French Institute of
South Africa to further his dance skills.

TEACHING CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS FACILTIATIONS
1999 – 3 Taught dance classes and choreographed for semi – professional dance
organization (Kopano Performing Artists) in Katlehong.
2001 – 3 Taught and hosted dance classes (Afro – fusion & Afro – contemporary) at
Katlehong Art Centre for local cultural organizations and the community.
2004- Taught dance classes (Traditional dance and afro - contemporary) at
Morojaneng Primary School and Alafang secondary School. In Ekhurhuleni.
2005 Taught dance classes at Boksburg Correctional Service and facilitated dance
workshops to other Ekhurhuleni Correctional Services (Devon, Nigel,
Heidelberg and Modderpier)
2008 – 09 Taught dance classes at CCFN & CCFZ Niger.
2009 Facilitated workshops at TRUFESTA International Solo & duo Dance Festival
2009 at N.C.A.C Artiste Village, Lagos, Nigeria

AWARDS
Lucky Kele was awarded most promising male dancer in contemporary dance during 2006
GAUTENG MEC AWARDS nominated from following works; Engomeni and Frustration.
Separation his third work awarded best choreography during Best of Regions Dance
Festival, hosted by Gauteng Department of Sports, Reconciliation, Arts and Culture.

°1997/8 Performed Wanna Be Gonna Be at Market Theatre (JHB)
°1999 Participated in numerous dance festivals across South Africa such Arts Alive
International Festival etc.
°2003/4 Performed E’sguqweni and Engomeni at Grahamstown National Arts
Festival (Eastern Cape) and Macufe (Bloemfontein), with Vukani Community
Theatre.
°2006 Performed Iceberg, Macbeth and Reproach with Forgotten Angles Theatre
Collaborative at Dance Factory (JHB)
°2006 Collaborated with Jozi Dance Theatre performed at University of
Johannesburg.
°2007 Performed Identity –Imed Jemaa Nawal
– Abou Lagraa
African Dance – Salia Sanou
All the works performed during a regional tour in Tunisia.
2007 Performed Ritual with Michel Kouakou (Ivory Cost /New York)
at Bates Dance Festival,Lewiston,USA
2008 Performed “The Magic” a musical production at Market Lab with
Vukani Community Theatre.
2008 – 9 Collaboration with Company Nèma – Maman Sani Moussa (Niger) and Yaya
Sarria (Tchad) performed at CCF Georges Mèlies - Dialogue du Corps (Burkina
Faso) and Zinder & Niamey both in Niger.
